MILESTONE FOR A LOYAL FALCONS VOLUNTEER

Thursday, July 9, 2015 - 12:50 PM by Chris Pike

VOLUNTEERS are the life blood of the West Perth Football Club and we are pleased to acknowledge one of those with a man who is the jack of all trades, Darrell Kent, reaching a milestone this past week.

Darrell is a passionate West Perth man and helps out the club in any area that he can, and that has included him writing a match report for the Falcons website each Monday after a game, home and away.

His report on the win over Subiaco to celebrate the International Football Festival was the 200th he has penned.

His match reports have become a popular read by the West Perth supporters and members, as he takes a look at the league, reserves and colts matches of that weekend from the eyes of a supporter.

Belinda Taylor also provides the photographs for his match reports with her service also much-appreciated.

Darrell is also in his seventh year as being the minute take for the West Perth Football Club board meetings. The club holds 12 board meetings a season as well as the annual general meeting, and Darrell takes down the minutes of each and every one of them.

West Perth president Brett Raponi paid tribute to the service that Darrell continues to provide.

"Darrell is the ultimate club member and volunteer. Always willing to assist and always supportive of the club even in our darker days," Raponi said.

"His service to the West Perth Football Club runs far longer than the seven years I have been president but I must say I find him to be the voice of reason.

"Darrell always attends club functions and always pays his way. The club greatly appreciates all our volunteers and this is the appropriate time to say thank you."
