A new Junior Australian Rules Football Club is gaining momentum in the suburbs of Carramar, Bankisa Grove and Neerabup. The Neerabup District Auskick Centre is moving closer to forming itself as the West Perth Districts 9th Junior Club.
On the grassy oval of Peridot Park next to Neerabup Primary School in Banksia Grove football juniors will be learning the skills of Auskick, making new friends and starting an institution which will become the Neerabup District Junior Football Club.
The club (now in its third year of operation) will grow in 2010 and will self manage to conduct a football Auskick centre for children aged 5 years to eight years. The club aims to grow over the next 5 years introducing additional age groups into the Junior Football ranks as numbers and interest grow.
Thanks to support from the West Perth Football District, Telstra and the Australian Government the club has secured equipment funding for new footballs, first aid equipment and the purchase of a trailer, marquee and BBQ- allowing the club to operate independently and to provide a quality service to members both on and off the field.
The club with the help of the West Pert District is establishing strong links with local primary schools and the developer Banksia Grover Property to ensure this new club has strong community links.
The club will operate on Saturday Mornings between 8.00am – 11.00am beginning in May 2010. For more information about how to sign your kids up or to offer support to the new club contact: Amanda Wells on 0417 606 518.
The club will hold an open day on Sunday 21st February between: 9am – 12noon at Peridot Oval- Banksia Grove. Come down, have a kick and join this exciting new club.
