Yilgarn Falcons - (Country Development Squad)

The Yilgarn Falcons program is the country development arm of the West Perth Football Club. The program is specific to West Perth's country zone with players being predominantly drawn from the Central Wheatbelt Football League and the Eastern Districts Football League. We continue to unearth some great talent with many country players scattered across our 16’s, Colts and Senior squads.

These two country leagues comprise of towns including Merredin, Burracoppin, Nukarni, Hyden, Karlgarin, Bruce Rock, Corrigin, Narembeen, Kulin, Kondinin, Southern Cross, Koorda, Beacon, Mukinbudin, Nungarin, Kalannie & Bencubbin.

Players are invited to join the Yilgarn Falcons based on both training and playing form from both country and school games, this also includes those players attending boarding school.

Players take part in training fortnightly in Merredin with a number of events scheduled around these training sessions. These events include: Induction in Perth at West Perth Football Club, Scratch Matches at both Bruce Rock and Merredin, Camp over night at West Perth Football Club and Country Metro Carnival. West Perth aims to offer the young men involved in the Yilgarn Falcons program an opportunity to experience a small taste of WAFL club environment, facilities and education to assist in their football development. The main goal for all players involved in this program is to be selected to represent West Perth Football Club in the WAFL 14's and 15's Carnival during the October school holidays.

We are excited to have on board Head Coach – Tom O’Brien for his 1st season with the group as well as Sam Dawson as an Assistant.

Invites for this program have recently been sent out. If players are interested, they can register via the below link.
