Connor West to West Coast Eagles
Connor West to West Coast Eagles
The West Perth Football Club in conjunction with the West Coast Eagles and Connor West have come to an agreement today that will see Connor play his football at the West Coast Eagles effective immediately.
West Perth FC and the West Coast Eagles have reached an agreement that Connor will be available to return to the West Perth Football Club should the League team qualify for WAFL finals in 2021 on the condition that Connor is not selected at AFL level, selected in the AFL reduced playing squad and if Connor is ruled medically fit to play.
This decision has been fully endorsed by our Board, our Senior Coach and our General Manager of Football and will allow Connor to be fully invested at West Coast and will provide him with his best opportunity to realise his aspirations of playing and succeeding at AFL level. Like any new player coming into a football program, Connor will have a lot to take in over the coming days and weeks as he works to establish relationships with his new teammates, coaches and other staff as well as learn the West Coast system to prepare for an opportunity at AFL level. Given this and after very respectful discussions between all parties we believe this is the best outcome.
Connor will always be a West Perth man. His family has a great history and connection with our Club and Connor and his entire family will always be welcome back at any time. I know everyone at our Club including our members are proud of Connor and are thankful for his contribution to date. We now wish him all the very best for his future as he chases his dream of playing AFL on the big stage.
