Nominations have now closed for the six (6) positions of Director of the West Perth Football Club for seasons 2015 / 16. At the time of closure seven (7) nominations for Directors were received, resulting in an election. President, Brett Raponi, was re-elected unopposed for a fourth term and said:

ANOTHER MILESTONE IN A GREAT LIFE

Captaining the 1942 team to a premiership over Claremont capped off a superb debut season for Len Harman. Finishing equal second in the Sandover Medal count, by one vote, this was to be the beginning of a distinguished 12-season, 201 game career at West Perth. Whilst rapidly establishing his reputation in his own right, Len became known as “Jimmy Craig the Second”.

WEST PERTH AFL NATIONAL DRAFT PREVIEW

THE AFL National Draft for 2014 takes place this Thursday on the Gold Coast with several West Perth players a chance of being picked up.

Unlike last year with Blake Acres and Nick Robertson, there doesn’t appear to be any West Perth players certain of being picked up in the draft and to be on an AFL list in 2015, but there are a host of Falcons players who are being considered.

That includes Sandover Medal winner Aaron Black, dual Breckler Medallist Shane Nelson, premiership star Rohan Kerr, emerging key position player Marcus Adams and teenagers Will Michell, Tyson Moulton and Clinton Hinchcliffe.

NO. 1 TICKET HOLDER TOPS WA MEDIA AWARDS

THE West Perth Football Club wishes to congratulate No. 1Ticket Holder Basil Zempilas on taking out the highest honour at the WA Football Media Awards last week.

The West Australian Football Commission and WA Football Media Guild hosted the annual WA Football Media Awards at Patersons Stadium last Tuesday night to recognise the season’s high achievers both on and off the field.

This included awards for online, print, radio and television media, WAFL and AFL players and coaches, as well as special awards for outstanding service.

The most prestigious award on the night is the Geoff Christian Medal for overall excellence in 2014 and that was presented to West Perth's very own No. 1 Ticket Holder Basil Zempilas.

FALCONS WELL REPRESENTED AT COMMUNITY INVITATION ART AWARDS

THE West Perth Football Club was well represented at the City of Joondalup's 2014 Community Invitation Art Awards.

The Community Invitation Art Award exhibited the works of 13 professional artists from across Western Australia working in a variety of different mediums including painting, photography, sculpture and installation. 

The City of Joondalup was proud to have presented the annual Community Invitation Art Award exhibition at Lakeside Shopping City which ran from Sunday October 19 to Friday October 31.

KEY PLAYERS RE-SIGN TO GEAR UP FOR FALCONS' 2015 CAMPAIGN

THE West Perth Football Club has continued to make significant progress in putting together a strong line-up for the 2015 WAFL season with premiership stars Rohan Kerr, Jordan Jones and Steven Browne among the key players to re-sign for at least one year.

On the back of the announcement that 2003 premiership player and 117-game AFL veteran big man Kepler Bradley and VFL centre half-forward Michael Lourey signing on, West Perth is also delighted to announce the re-signing of a host of key players.

Bradley and Lourey have both committed to the West Perth Football Club for the 2015 and 2016 WAFL seasons after signing two-year contracts as has 2013 premiership star Rohan Kerr.

DEAN TAKES FLIGHT FOLLOWING HIS FIRST WAFL GAME

Congratulations to Dean Bartlett who won first prize in the 2014 Major Raffle, drawn at the Breckler Medal earlier this month.

Dean attended his first ever WAFL game, joining us at our Round 19 pre-match President’s Luncheon, where he purchased his lucky raffle ticket.

Originally from the UK, Dean has been in Australia for nine years and is looking forward to meeting his daughter (who still resides in the UK) in Rome after many years apart.
