BLACK'S 100TH GAME ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT MILESTONE IN YOUNG CAREER

Friday, July 24, 2015 - 3:24 PM - by Chris Pike

HAVING already played in a premiership, played State football and won a Sandover Medal, Aaron Black has crammed a career full of achievements into his first 99 games, but the West Perth midfielder is far from content as he prepares for his 100th match at just 22 years of age.

Black made his debut back in Round 16, 2010 and has come a long way from the small, tagging midfielder on that cold and wet night at Fremantle Oval as he played in a heavy West Perth defeat.

He has barely missed a match ever since making his debut as a 17-year-old and now ever since has put together a remarkable career that he deserves a lot of credit for with the hard work and dedication he has put in to continue improve his football in all areas.

FALCONS LOSE TO SWANS IN THRILLER AFTER LEADING ALL DAY

Monday, July 20, 2015 - 11:52 PM - by Chris Pike

WEST Perth led just about all afternoon until Swan Districts kicked the final two goals to win by two points at Steel Blue Oval and end the Falcons' four-game winning run on Saturday.

West Perth came into the game on the back of wins against South Fremantle, East Perth, Subiaco and Perth to be solid in second position on the WAFL ladder.

The Falcons did come into the clash with Swans without premiership players Matt Guadagnin, Jordan Jones, Rohan Kerr, Luke Tedesco and Andrew Strijk, so the depth was being tested but stood up to the challenge for most of the day at Bassendean.

West Perth kicked the first two goals of the game and maintained an advantage around that margin for most of the afternoon until Swan Districts got the last two goals to end up winning 9.11 (65) to 8.15 (63).

ROUND 17 PREVIEW V SWAN DISTRICTS

Saturday, July 18, 2015 - 3:12 AM - by Chris Pike

WEST Perth heads to Steel Blue Oval on Saturday to take on Swan Districts looking for a fifth straight WAFL victory to further consolidate second position on the ladder.

Clashes between Swan Districts and West Perth never fail to deliver some of the most exciting contests of any WAFL season, and this Saturday's contest should be no different.

A win for the Falcons would see them remain at least one game and percentage clear in second spot, and possibly two games clear of the rest of the competition if Claremont beats Peel Thunder.

Swan Districts, meanwhile, is clinging to fifth position despite having the bye last weekend on the back of a narrow win over East Perth and a tight loss to South Fremantle.

SCANS this week have unfortunately confirmed that West Perth premiership midfielder Matt Guadagnin's 2015 WAFL season is over and that he will require the second knee reconstruction of his decorated career.

Guadagnin was having another strong game to continue his outstanding recent form during Saturday's eventual 49-point win over Perth at Lathlain Park until he went down with a knee injury.

The worst was immediately thought when he was examined by the club's medical staff and now scans have confirmed that he has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and that he will require a full knee reconstruction.
