In a first for the Ocean Ridge Amateur Football Club, not one but two of their 2008 Colts Squad have been successful in gaining selection in the WAAFL under 19 State Squad.
Members of a 28 man squad, Matt Tate and Daniel Watkins, will play in a curtain raiser to the Eagles/Richmond game on the 13th July at Subiaco Oval.
Ocean Ridge Colts Coach, Darren Gooch, had this to say about the breakthrough selections, "Tatey and Watto work really hard at their football and it is fantastic to see them rewarded for that effort, we expect them to be regular members of our senior squad for many years to come".
Congratulations to both Matt and Daniel on this marvellous achievement.
In further club news, Amatuer legend Paul "Carly" Carlsen, will kit up for his 350th game this weekend at Heathridge park. A member of the 2006 C Reserves premiership side and considered by many to be to Old and Bald, Carly continues to defy his critics and be an integral part of the Ocean Ridge's G Grade Juggernaught. The club urges all supporters to get down to Heathridge Park this weekend to help Carly celebrate this milestone. Full bar and canteen facilities will be available.
GO THE EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
