Fifty eight points behind at the nineteen minute mark of the third term but only five behind at the final siren. West Perth supporters did not know whether to laugh or cry at what was a tremendous fight back after a poor thirty minutes of football spanning the second and third quarters. There was a lot to like but unfortunately the result wasn't what the Club so desperately needed.

The West Perth Football Club has long been referred to by its supporters and other clubs as the “Garlic Munchers.”  This year the club will embrace its strong link to players that have descendants with a European upbringing by naming the Garlic Muncher’s All Star Team 1895-2007.At a dinner to be held on Saturday May 31 at the Stirling Adriatic Club, a team of twenty players in position will be announced along with a coach and two worthy volunteers.  A selection committee chaired by club President Colin Rockman have been reviewing the clubs player’s history and have reduced the initial squad of 150 players down to 45 players.
