ROHAN KERR PLAYER COLUMN – Q and A

Tuesday, August 19, 2014 - 6:22 PM by ROHAN KERR

A WEST Perth premiership player will be writing a column for the club's website every week of the 2014 WAFL season. This week's edition is Rohan Kerr's latest offering as he conducts a Q and A segment.

QUESTION: Hi Rohan, I was wondering what you rate higher in your own form, kicking multiple goals or 30+ touches? (Johnny Daley)
ANSWER: Hi Johnny, cheers for the question mate. I don't necessarily rate my own performance on touches or goals, I more concentrate on the impact I can have on the game and the efficiency I can be at. There's no point getting 30+ and turning it over every time!

QUESTION: Hi Rohan, your second half of the season has been superb, so just wondering if there was a reason that your form has improved so dramatically (e.g. fitness)? I believe we can make the 4, what do you & the boys think? Are you continuing with us next year (hopefully yes)? Last one, what does your tattoo say on your arm? (Jenny Bempasciuto)
ANSWER: Hi Jenny, very good question. I have always believed my fitness has been good enough at any level so I guess along that and along with work ethic I have managed to be a little more consistent in my own game which is a positive.

In regards to next year, I'm in the process of making contract negotiations with West Perth and hopefully write up a deal soon enough.

Aha the tattoo on my left arm is a beach themed sleeved, and on my right is my star sign and birthdate in case I forget. Haha

QUESTION: Hey Kerry! Do you have a specific pre-game routine you go through? Like listening to a certain playlist or eating a special meal? Also who's your favourite trainer? Kidding about the last one. Haha miss you guys! (Tessa Richards)
ANSWER: Hey Tessa, yeah I do have a pre game routine, the night before I make sure I always have a big bowl of spaghetti bolognaise and 24 hours before bounce down I make sure I hydrate really well with between 7-10 Powerade to manage the weight I lose while playing. I'm not a big music listener before games but I just mainly like to be relaxed and energetic on game day!

QUESTION: Rohan, any tips on how to grow the ultimate moustache? (Matt Beilken)
ANSWER: Hey Matt, yeah look I wouldn't recommend growing a moustache for everyone. It takes a special breed of human to create such a look, but once it grows the rewards are endless

QUESTION: Rohan, do you intend to stay with us? You make our team better and you can be a 100-game player. Who is your favourite West Perth teammate? (Joe Italiano)
ANSWER: G'day Joe, thanks mate.

Yeah I do intend on staying with West Perth next year, it's a great club with fantastic people involved and a lot of young kids coming through getting there opportunity and grasping it which is great so see so I believe we have the list to be very successful in the coming years.

Tough question who my favourite teammate is, they are all great to play with on so many different levels, but I've got a lot of respect for Dan Hunt and the way he goes about it taking on the best power forwards week in week out and doing a great job for the team.
