A Message from the President
First up, I’d like to thank our loyal members for their past and present support for the West Perth Football Club.
As you know, we are the oldest club in the WAFL, but that did not save us from running into financial troubles last year, which had been building for some time.
The Falcons are not out of the woods yet – and we need your help again.
As the end of the financial years approaches, the club has joined with the Australian Sports Foundation for a tax-deductible fundraising campaign.
This will allow you to donate in a tax-effective form to help the club raise $250,000 which will allow us to secure its future.
The new board is working hard to find new sponsors and some of the debt has already been lowered, but we are not yet in a sustainable position. If you came to the Peel home game, you would have seen our expanded game-day activities which are providing new revenue opportunities.
New coach Geoff Valentine had a slow start to his first season, but the players have now hit their straps with a string of wins – including knocking off the league leaders – and we want to ensure they get the backing they deserve.
Each week we see an amazing turn-out of passionate supporters coming to games and events. We depend on our diverse supporter base: fans, members, parents and friends, past players, officials and volunteers.
The one thing we all have in common is our passion for the Falcons and a desire to see our club succeed and grow.
We are hoping that each of our supporters will donate $200 towards the club’s future. However, any donation over $2 is tax-deductible and very welcome.
It’s as simple as hopping online and following this link: https://asf.org.au/projects/west-perth-football-club-inc
Or you can ring the club on 93003611 and we’ll arrange your donation over the phone.
If your heart beats true, help us ensure the grand old flag keeps flying.
- West Perth Football Club President
