A message from Club President, Dr Neale Fong

Friday, April 5, 2019 - 12:52 PM

On the eve of the 2019 Season the Board would like to thank all our loyal fans, supporters, sponsors and members for their support so far. We are excited about our prospects this season for all of our teams, and wish the players, coaches, support staff and families all the very best for a great season of hard endeavour and hopeful ultimate success - at the team and individual level.

The Club staff and volunteers have worked hard over the summer months to get our great club back on its feet. Last Friday we officially launched the Season, introduced the senior squad players, held the Corporate Classic event (won by Anderton Accounting), completed a great Player Auction and thanked our sponsors who are on board to date. We are getting close to achieving budget targets, but we need more support. Some exciting announcements will be made in coming weeks.

Geoff Valentine our senior coach and all of our teams' coaches and support staff have got our teams up and going. It's going to be a good year. We were also thrilled to see our local boy Josh Rotham named to make his debut for the West Coast Eagles this Saturday. Although our goal is not just to produce AFL draftees we are thrilled that Josh has worked hard to get this amazing opportunity.

The WAFL and the womens footy competitions are great opportunities for our players to play our great game at the highest level, develop life-long friendships and become solid citizens in our community. Footy does this, and you can help us do that even more!

If you're not a member - please go to our membership site on the website and join today. Our first home game is April 13 at Joondalup Arena. If you want to sponsor the Club - it's not too late - we will welcome you! If you can volunteer some time  - get in touch with us.

And to our kids and families in the northern areas where we live - have a great year too. Footy is well and truly back and we hope our junior, district and community football clubs have terrific seasons too. We see you very much part of the Falcons Family. A couple of weeks ago we saw the clubrooms packed to the rafters with our Colts and Future Falcons players and families for their season launch. It was an inspiring night to see the young and enthusiastic faces of our future Falcons!

Once again welcome to Season 2019 - the Year the Falcons turn the corner, and maintain our position as the historic and progressive club that we are in the WAFL.
