FALCONS DEVELOPING YOUNG TALENT IN 2010
The WAFL 16’s Carnival has now finished for 2010, and the West Perth Football Club has had 6 representatives selected in the initial squad for the State 16’s. All 6 boys had consistent carnivals and thoroughly deserve their involvement in this year’s State Academy Program.
The West Perth Football Club would like to acknowledge and congratulate the following players on their initial selection.
Corey Chalmers, Jacob Regan and Jarrod Best (Quinns)
Aidan Lynch (Edgewater/Woodvale)
Josh Munns (Beacon)
Martin Geraghty (Whitfords)
As can be seen these players hail from a number of clubs throughout the Falcons District both metropolitan and country, a strong breeding ground for aspiring footballers. All boys are a credit to their respective junior clubs and will no doubt give a good account of themselves throughout the State 16’s Program.
The 16’s carnival finished with West Perth being successful in three of the five games they are played in. The squad performed exceptionally well at times, and developed across a range of important areas as part of the 16’s Les Fong Squad.
Sincere congratulations must go to the 16’s coaching staff who once again did a marvellous job over the course of the program. Head Coach Corry Bewick and his assistants David Palm, Peter Menaglio, Luke Hendriks, John Gavranich were also helped by , Dan Lloyd and Greg Williamson during the 3 months of the program. With such an illustrious crew, we were the envy of other WAFL clubs and we are extremely confident that the players involved will have developed not only their football education, but their life education also, which the Club takes great pride in. Sincere thanks also must be extended to Team manager John McAdam and Sports trainers Sharrie Carter/Jess Hayes for all their unconditional and professional work this year.
