Tuesday 31st of August saw schools from within the West Perth District invited to play at the Falcons home, Arena Joondalup in the district's first ever Dockers Cup. Dockers Cup is a new girls only primary school based competition, run at this stage in a lightning carnival format.

Saturday 14th of August saw the West Perth District enter their first ever Youth Girls side into WA's biggest ever Youth Girls Carnival.

The carnival was held at Coolbinia Reserve, Coolbinia and saw more than 250 girls form 10 teams to compete for the Youth Girls Championship Shield. The teams were split into 2 divisions which faced off over several hours of hard- hitting competetive play. The teams included the a Fremantle team, which was a combination of both East and South Fremantle Districts to form a powerhouse club which managed to pull together and knock off a very strong and competetive South West Sirens in the biggest upset of the day, Swan Districts, Perth Demons, Peel Thunderbirds, East Perth Royals, Subiaco District, Claremont District and Great Southern Storm, along with the Falcons.

WAFL Youth Girls Talent Carnival

FALCONS YOUTH GIRLS TEAM NOMINATION

The West Perth Football District invites girls ages 17 years and below (as at 1 January 2010) to nominate to play in the WAFL Youth Girls Talent carnival as part of the Falcons Youth Girls Team. The event will showcase Youth Girls Football with a team representing all metropolitan football districts.

The West Perth Football District located in Perth’s Northern Suburbs has been given a huge boost in their aim to grow and develop female football. The West Perth District was recently awarded $2000.00 from the Australian Sports Commission’s to educate 18 Female Football Coaches in Level 1 Coaching Accreditation Programs in early 2011.

OCEAN Ridge Junior Footy Club and West Perth District Development Officer Megan O'Mara have made the brave move to provide an all girls option within their Auskick Program.

WAFC Coordinator of Female Football Clint Degebrodt said this was an exceptional opportunity for young girls.

"Hats off to Scott and his team up at Ocean Ridge, the girls have asked for a female dedicated side in a 'girls only' setting,  which has now been provided."
