By Darrell Kent
West Perth were defeated in their Reserves Semi Final against East Perth on Sunday in a high quality contest. The Falcons led by a point at the first change, East Perth by a point at half time and scores were all tied up going into the last quarter but East Perth managed to get home by one straight kick. It was a fascinating game of football that had supporters on the edge of their seats until the final siren.
Regan Duckworth got the ball rolling for the Falcons when he took a courageous mark thirty metres out at the two minute mark. His accurate kick gave West Perth a one goal lead but Tim Noakes for East Perth had the reply in a minute. He was a dangerous player for East Perth all day. Cameron Branch then roved the ball from a throw in to kick a fine goal. Two more behinds to the Falcons gave them an eight point lead before Noakes was again involved when he soccered his second from the square. After another Falcon behind before an East Perth snap saw them grab the lead at the sixteen minute mark. Aaron Black then took a strong mark three minutes later and he kicked accurately to give West Perth back the lead. East Perth finished the term with two behinds to trail 3.3 (21) to 3.2 (20) at the first change.
